Viognier

2005 Maryhill Winery (about $13): A plump, fat Viognier with plenty of apricot, peach and papaya flavors and a lenghty finish. This one’s a bit on the sweet side, so take note if you prefer your Viognier to be made in the drier style. Either way, it’s hard to resist this tasty white wine from the Columbia Gorge winery.

Mount Baker Vineyards 2004 (about $15): Incredibly floral and loaded with peach flavors, this lovely wine from Mount Baker rivals their blockbuster 2002 vintage. .9% residual sugar adds a bit of sweetness to the finish. This makes a great food wine to pair with salads, aged cheeses and seafood such as salmon or lobster. Serve slightly chilled and enjoy.

Caterina Winery 2003 (about $20): From the Willard Family Vineyard, this wine displays gentle peach, pear and apricot flavors and a slightly creamy, yet dry finish.
